A personal obituary for a lovable power woman
On the morning of 21 October 2024, the sad news came as a complete surprise to everyone that Ibu Titik had passed away at the age of just 68. She was suddenly torn from her life and her work, her beloved research into Indonesian manuscripts. And Ibu Titik (literally: Mother Dot, but that was really her first name) was a ‘’workaholic‘’ and could never sit still and do nothing: she was constantly on the go to a newly discovered manuscript collection or to a specialist conference. She was rarely to be found at home in Jakarta. She did everything with an enchanting, mischievous smile and a good dose of humour.
